Whistler (2018)

The Powder Hound Collective recently returned from an epic ski trip to Whistler, British Columbia, where Taylor and Bob spent four days shredding the slopes from March 21 - 24, 2018. This was the first PHC trip to Whistler and it was an unforgettable experience.

One of the highlights of the trip was stumbling into Garfinkel’s on Thursday, for “skate night”, a staple for Whistler-area “industry” locals. Though a comically fish-out-of-water experience, Bob and Taylor stuck around for what turned out to be an impressive amatuer ski/ride film competition.

The skiing conditions were amazing, we were blessed with hella powder, however, Taylor's old Rossignol Bandit B2s were no match for the powder. After a frustrating first run, he immediately headed in for a pair of demo skis. Bob and Taylor were so impressed that they each bought a pair of Soul 7 HD skis on a whim [thanks to that “Canadian discount” and end-of-season sales].

With their new gear set up, they made it out for the famous “Whistler First Tracks,” a crack-of-dawn gondola ride up accompanied by a delicious brunch. Their experience lapping fresh corduroy was cut short in a borderline death-defying and unsuccessful attempt to find Taylor’s GoPro under the Big Red chair.

This trip was a memorable one and we look forward to returning to Whistler soon.
